I have a Vista and whenever I download any, and I mean any any product from Adobe it doesn't work, and I don't know why the heck it does this !! Its driving me crazy ! I have an XP and used the same downloaded file and it worked perfectly, so from my experience I can say that XP is better.

btw guys, does anyone know how I can deal with the ADOBE problem I'm facing with Vista ? please help if u can

If I donwload the test version of After Effects, there is an error. The programme says that I need a 64bit version of Windows to install AE.

WTF???

Adobe After Effects CS5 is currently only compatable with 64-bit operating systems.

It depends what you do on your computer.

In my opinion, you should buy Windows 7 (64-bit) - (Home, Professional, or Ultimate depending on your budget). Windows 7 (being he latest version of Windows, you may also know previous versions, such as Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows NT)

Though, it does somewhat reflect on your computer's specifications, Windows 7 (32-bit) requires only 1GB of RAM, but Windows (64-bit) requires 2GB RAM.

If you have 2GB RAM+, then I would recommend buying Windows 7 (64-bit).

If you have a 64-bit Operating System (OS), and you have installed a 64-bit application, then the program should run faster than if you installed the 32-bit version of the application, if you get what I mean.

Though, some programs are only compatible with 64-bit OS's, such as Adobe After Effects CS5.

Any other questions, or you would like to know more information, please reply to this comment, and I will reply as soon as possible!

Is it possible to use After Effects with XP Professional? Or just Win Vista or Win 7?

You might be able to run a patch for AE to work on XP, but Adobe will not support it. So if you are a pro and you work with a legal copy of After Effects, I really advice against a patch like this.
