Argh! I've been using After Effects 7 for quite some time now and it has never given me any serious problems, except for crashing now and then, which I worked around. Now, however, it is completely freezing up when I try to import anything! Instantly it freezes, and I have to close it out. Obviously, the program is useless to me if I can't even import a single video clip.

I'm positive there is nothing wrong with my computer...like I said, I've been using this program for a long time now...just to be on the safe side, I reformatted the hard-drive a couple of weeks ago, hoping that would solve the problem, but it's still happening.

Until I can figure out the problem, I've been using a trial version of Sony Vegas, and it has been working perfectly.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem? It was working fine not too long ago when I made those giant snowmen clips, but now I can't even import a single video clip, and I'm starting to feel a bit desperate...you all know that the program isn't exactly cheap. *lol*

Hey...never mind, gang....I ran a partial restore on my computer, and now it's back to working perfectly!  Not freezing up..not crashing...I'm thinking I had something else installed that was conflicting with AE...not going to go in and install a bunch of programs anymore...only what I absolutely need to use. *lol*
