I was wondering why sometimes when I import files into Vegas from After Effects I lose quality? I render my movies in AE with Quicktime, and I know Vegas doesn't like quicktime but that is the highest quality for AE to render in. Any work around? Any way to get Vegas to show my AE videos in full HD?

Welcome to the Forums nmlyons! The best way to preserve quality is to export from AE as an uncompressed AVI file. To keep the best settings for that in Vegas, click File... New. Then click the Folder icon at the top and select your file. This will change the project settings to be the same as the AVI file. Then just add your AVI to the timeline and off you go! You could manually set the Project Settings to HD but it's much quicker using the File... New trick. Note that you do not get this option when you simply click the 'New' icon.

Hello! Try rendering your video in AE as an uncompressed AVI. Watch this video for more information: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA27uDvUQY0
