It's definably possible.


You could try using this masking technique, but extend the letter with a solid color, found in the Media Generators tab - (kind of like Alex does in his tutorial).

How do you do the zoom, and get the extending letters?  Could you do a tutorial for Sony Vegas Pro 9.0?

I don't think that's possible to do it in Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, due to you not being able to add a "Camera", like in AE. But, it may be possible by rendering different parts, then key framing in the Event Pan/Crop window.


The extending letter may be possible by using a solid color, that can be found in the Media Generators tab.
